13.1 Candidates will be able to help students use technology tools to collaborate with others inside and outside the classroom.
The Telecollaborative Project that we planned in ET 630 was an project within which we helped students use technology tools to collaborate with other classes around the world. Using Skype and the Google Docs, students shared information and data that incorporated geographic-specific contextual information about their community to spur curiosity in other classroom. Students were to reflect and then used Skype and Google Docs to compare the similarities and differences in their geographic areas. Students were introduced to technology tools that they used to exchange information and eventually collaborate on a data analysis project using data from both classes. In this way the students were using the Google Docs to collaborate with others both inside the classroom (their classmates) and outside the classroom (the other class).

13.2 Candidates will understand technological tools for collaboration with colleagues and demonstrate the disposition to use technological tools for collaboration in appropriate ways.
Throughout the Educational Technology Leadership program at Loyola we had many opportunities to use and learn technology tools appropriately to collaborate with colleagues. One of the main ways that we collaborated in classes was with Google Docs. In ET 620 we used Google Docs to collaborate on the DDD-E Multimedia project. This allowed each of the four of us in the group to work independently on parts of the project then put all our work on the Google Doc so that we could ultimately have a finished project. We did not need to physically meet as we could see what everyone else was doing online. This was the same in ET 630 as we used a Google Doc to plan the Telecollaborative Project. We used the Google Doc as a work area to submit, critique, and collaborate with each other. Another way that we used technology over the course of the program was with a tool that we learned about in the program, Zoom. When we had group projects to do, my group would often use the Zoom conferencing tool to be able to have real time discussions and to work on projects. While we used Zoom in many classes, the one project that stands out to me is the live webinar that we planned and delivered in ET 662. Because this course was taken over the summer, the timeline was about half of a regular spring or fall semester course. To have enough time to plan the webinar, our group of four met regularly on Zoom to plan out many parts of the webinar. This allowed us to meet synchronously but in different locations.
