11.1 Candidates will be able to create multimedia products that facilitate K-12 instructional and professional learning goals, and implement an instructional design model to facilitate student multimedia production.
To address key concept 11.1, we created two multimedia projects in ET 620. The first project was our digital story. This was my first experience in creating a video project and I found it to be very interesting. I started by creating a storyboard with my timings, text, music, and pictures that I was going to use in the project. Then using Windows Movie Maker, we layered the pictures, music, and the speech. This was difficult because the timings had to be correct. If something needed to be adjusted after it was recorded, it was difficult. This was a great project to utilize with students. The second multimedia project that facilitated K-12 instructional and professional learning goals was the Multimedia Project Website on Isosceles Triangles. This project was meant for students to move through at their own pace viewing/reading content and then participating in activities both online and paper and pencil. In this case the multimedia product is the website. While students didn’t have to create the website itself, they did have to navigate through it and complete the lesson.
